Yoga lifts GABA levels raising mood

According to researchers at the Boston University School of Medicine 19 subjects were asked to practice yoga and 15 were asked to walk three times weekly for 12 weeks.  People who practiced the yoga had greater improvements in mood, less anxiety and higher brain levels of gamma amino butyric acid or GABA which is a neurotransmitter in the brain that calms and reduces anxiety.
